DITTO Residency: Olivia Fredricks

Welcome our 2026 DITTO resident, Olivia Fredricks!

Rooted in Second State Press’s mission to support innovation in printmaking, DITTO provides dedicated time, space, and access to a digital duplicator to an artist interested in deep, hands-on engagement with the risograph medium.

During her residency, Olivia will explore a book form that disassembles into a large-scale installation and reassembles back into a book. Influenced by photos, scans, and drawings the she made while in the Philippines, Olivia plans to use the tiled image format to force close-looking. This work is intended to straddle the line between hi-fi and lo-fi printed matter through its potential for different types of engagement and its quick, affordable risograph production.

Two open studios will be hosted in conjunction with Crane Arts’s Second Thursday events. Visit the studio on March 12th and April 9th from 6-8pm to discuss and view Olivia’s progress of her residency!
