Puzzle Purses are folded paper structures that were often used in 19th century valentines. Their intricate folds create opportunities to hide and reveals designs and messages.
In Riso Puzzle Purse, students will learn Riso printing, how to create and fold their own Puzzle Purse and how to plan a double sided print. After learning the folding structure students will get an introduction to using the Risograph machine.
Students will have time to draw or collage a design. Each student’s drawing will be printed on the Riso and layered with other students’ designs, showcasing the unique color-mixing properties of Riso ink. Students will leave with an edition of printed puzzle purses with their own designs & a collaborative group print.
All workshop materials are provided.
