Gelli plates are a unique modern medium for creating layered prints without a press, and using minimal tools. The processes learned in this gelli printing session can be recreated at home with your own gelli plate, household materials, and some creative applications. In this workshop your instructor will talk about the limitations of gelli plate printing, demonstrate 3 techniques easily achievable for any beginner artist, and show the group how to successfully remove your artwork from the gelli plate. The group will have multiple hours of experimental printing time to create at least 10 multi layer works on paper. Feel free to bring your own experimental papers or fabrics to practice printing on or with. Also optional, you could bring textured items, stamps, or impressionable objects to personalize your experiments.
All materials provided, no experience necessary.
