This two-day intensive is perfect for the ambitious SSP member ready to tackle a new process and create a beautiful print for our Annual Member Print Exchange. Students will learn the stone lithography process from start to finish through a series of demos and hands-on experiences. Each student will draw their own image on stone using a variety of drawing materials, and the class will work together to print the editions. Students will leave class with an edition of 22 prints in time for participation in the Member Print Exchange. Demos include graining a stone, drawing on stone, as well as etching and printing techniques.
Kimmy Juhas is an artist, printmaker, and educator based in Philadelphia. She uses her art to manipulate the spaces and shapes she sees around her. The process and research is the most important part of her pieces because it brings her ideas alive. Since getting for BFA from Tyler School of Art, Kimmy has been teaching and also working in the floral design business. Her most loved processes include experimental lithography and monoprint techniques.
