This three-day intensive is perfect for anyone interested in learning how to create beautiful lithographs drawn on stone. Students will learn the stone lithography process from start to finish through a series of demos and hands-on experience. Each student will draw their own image on stone using a variety of drawing materials, and the class will work together to print the editions. Students will leave class with an edition of prints. Demos include graining a stone, drawing on stone, as well as etching and printing techniques.
Instructor Bio: Heather McMordie is an artist and printmaker based in Philadelphia. After graduating from The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and The University of Pennsylvania. Heather finds inspiration for her artwork in the surrounding landscapes and soils. Her complexly layered prints and drawings explore the relationship between the printmaking process and geological processes.
