In this digital age, "everyone is a photographer." We will explore alternative photography to acknowledge that there are many ways to create images. Students will spend the week exploring different ways to make pictures and the meaning and history behind the process. Projects include hand-colored photography, digital imaging, and dioramas to create fictional scenes.
Students will conclude their week by working with Second State Press to create polymer photogravures. Each student will take a 5x7 digital image, expose and develop it into a polymer plate to produce a unique set of prints. Students will leave with their very own hand-printed photogravures.
Note: the polymer process include no toxic chemicals.
